MPMPI Scholarship for Meeting Professionals The MPMPI Scholarship for Meeting Professionals was created by MPMPI to help increase membership of meeting professionals, as well as offer opportunities for those responsible for planning meetings/events, who are financially unable to join MPMPI at this time. Our goal of providing this scholarship is to ensure the meeting professional will experience firsthand, the benefits of MPMPI. From education programs and Platinum Speakers to networking events and community activities, MPMPI offers the resources for continuous professional growth and improvement. To be considered for this scholarship, individuals must plan meetings or events for at least 51% of their job. The applicant cannot be an existing MPMPI or MPI member. The applicant must have the authority to sign an event and venue rental contract, as the client, as well as be responsible for detailing the event from start to finish. . In return for the complimentary membership for the first year, the recipient is required to be an active Chapter member by attending a minimum of five (5) MPMPI events between the first full month of being notified of receipt of the scholarship, and the last month the membership is active. Example: notified in June you have been awarded the scholarship, you need to attend five MPMPI events between July and June and be active on an MPMPI Committee (Finance, Education, Communications, Special Events, Sponsorship or Membership). The recipient will also participate in a quarterly review with at least one representative from the MPMPI Executive Board. Scholarships are based upon availability. Applications will be reviewed by members of MPMPI’s Membership Committee. Applicants will be notified by the end of the next full month after the application was received. (Ex. Submit the application on March 15, you will be notified of acceptance or denial, by April 30.)
