NACC opens call for 2017 Conference presentation proposals The annual National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) conference is a popular venue for regulated career college representatives, industry, stakeholders and government officials to gather and share their updates and innovations. The 2017 Conference will be held from October 18-20, 2017 in Ottawa, Ontario. The theme is “Exploring New Avenues: Attracting International Students to Career Colleges”. NACC realizes that international students attending regulated career colleges cannot currently receive a postgraduate work permit. However, 25,000 international students have chosen regulated career colleges in Canada regardless of the work permit issue, bringing over $1 billion to Canada’s economy. This conference will explore why international students still choose regulated career colleges - and what colleges can do to attract more students and pursue new and exciting opportunities for their schools. In preparation, NACC is officially launching a Call for Papers, soliciting proposals for presentations at the conference. We are seeking presentation proposals in the following topic areas: • • • •

Why international students choose regulated career colleges What marketing strategies are most effective to attract international students Pathway agreements between international partners and regulated career colleges Driving and evaluating excellence in private education (e.g. education excellence, human resources, delivery model, marketing and admissions, and financial evaluation) If you are interested in presenting at the 2017 NACC Conference, please prepare an abstract of 250 words or less, describing the focus of your presentation. The deadline for submissions of abstracts is Monday May 1, 2017. Abstracts should be sent electronically to [email protected]. NACC will review the submitted abstracts and successful authors will be contacted with further information about preparation requirements for the Conference.
