How to Become a Volunteer Mentor with Gwinnett County Public Schools Community-Based Mentoring Program? Step 1:
Be a female or male, age 21 years and older
Step 2:
Attend a Volunteer Mentor Training Session
Step 3:
Commit to a minimum of one year
Step 4:
Complete a GCIC Consent Form (background check) and Volunteer Mentor Application
Step 5:
Once approved and training is complete, you will be notified of a suitable match for individual mentoring or small group mentoring. The program office then provides guidance with the introductions to the student(s), parents, and school.
Step 6:
Begin Mentoring!!
Step 7:
Complete the Monthly Mentor Report Log
Step 8:
Attend program activities such as field trips, workshops, meetings, etc.
