Santina Taranto – National President

Michael Pope – MC

As National reforms and systems grow in number, there is room for the discussion of a consistent national system of Uniform Torrens Title. Professor Peter Butt has completed considerable work in this area, and will share the benefits of a harmonised system. Our panel of experts will debate this concept drawing from Professor Butt’s extensive studies.

The Modern Conveyancer Results of research and consultation with stakeholders across the industry, in the UK and abroad, has identified the constraints in the home moving process and the solutions employed. Eddie Goldsmith, co-author of the paper “Modernising the Home Moving Process” presented at the 2016 UK Conveyancing Conference will talk about global issues impacting the property industry as well as his own vision of how the future technologysupported process will operate. Our panel of experts will debate digitization as a solution for a robust secure system of property ownership and transfer.

National Regulatory Overlays National regulatory reforms are increasing the compliance burden and risk on today’s conveyancer. The conveyancer needs to embrace these changes to heighten the profile of the profession by converting reforms to opportunities for business growth and improved revenue. Greater skills and expertise will future proof the profession and strengthen the value proposition for the discerning consumer.

Plain English Conveyancing Professor Peter Butt will talk about the importance of “Plain English” terminology, integral in managing today’s consumer who demands transparency and understanding of process and information. Plain language is an important skill. Its hallmarks are clarity, brevity, precision — and above all, readability. It is particularly important in law, commerce, and government.

Converting Clients to Advocates If every one of your customers referred you three new customers this year, what would that mean for your business? It could potentially more than triple it. And that is exactly the kind of results that are possible when you have a system for turning your existing customers into advocates; a system for creating, walking, unpaid advertisements for your business. Amanda Stevens has studied the science of consumer advocacy for more than a decade and she believes she’s “cracked the code” on how to build a loyal fan base of people that tell all their friends and family about you and gladly help you grow your brand.
