National Youth Leadership Training  Pathway to Adventure Council

Who:

First Class Boy Scouts, 13 years or older All members of a Venturing Crew What: National Youth Leadership Training When / Where: Three opportunities to participate in 2016 June 12-17 Camp Big Timber June 18-23 Camp Frank S. Betz July 10-15 Camp Sol R Crown Cost: $240.00 Why: Because Every Unit Deserves Trained Youth Leadership Through activities, games, and adventures, NYLT participants will work hard and play hard as they put into action the best Scouting has to offer. The Scout will learn that leadership requires a “toolbox” of leadership skills, including: vision, goals and planning, stages of team development, and communicating well. This National Youth Leadership Training was developed by the Boy Scouts of America and is being offered by the Pathway to Adventure Council for our youth leaders. Scouting recognizes that Scoutmasters and Crew Advisors have the primary responsibility for training their youth leaders. The purpose of NYLT is not to assume that role, but rather to enhance and support that role. NYLT is a 6-day training experience that features instruction in skills that can be used at home, at school, on the job, and, in particular, at the Scout unit level. We invite you to select your best Scouts, with an emphasis on all your unit leaders, especially your future Senior Patrol Leaders, Crew presidents, Crew Officers, Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders, and Patrol Leaders to attend NYLT.
