ISRAEL’S LEADERS ARE UNITED AGAINST THE IRAN DEAL

Across the political spectrum, Israel’s leaders are united in opposing the nuclear deal.

By not dismantling Iran’s nuclear program, in a decade this deal will give an unreformed, unrepentant and far richer terrorist regime the capacity to produce many nuclear bombs, in fact an entire nuclear arsenal with the means to deliver it.” – Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, Likud party, July 14, 2015

I think it is bad for Israel. [Netanyahu and I] will certainly cooperate when it comes to the security of Israel. As an Israeli patriot, this deal is dangerous…[Lifting sanctions will] immediately give Iran a lot of money and resources, which will reach our enemies at our borders. Now Iran is out of the cage and will become a regional tiger.”

– Isaac “Bougie” Herzog, opposition and Labor party leader, July 15, 2015

[I will] continue fighting to the last minute so that the whole world and the U.S. Congress understand that lifting sanctions without changing the issue of inspections would be wrong.” – Yair Lapid, Yesh Atid party leader, July 15, 2015

This agreement gives Iran the legitimacy to become a threshold state, it gives her the option to choose when to start producing a nuclear weapon, not without risks, it enables Iran to evade the financial stranglehold and to subsidize or support terror. In this aspect, this is a bad agreement…Iran, which is following the footsteps of North Korea and Pakistan, will become in the coming decade a nuclear superpower.”

– Ehud Barak, former Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Israel, July 14, 2015

The deal and the lifting of sanctions on Tehran will pour more than $100 billion into Iran. Even a fraction of that sum will triple the budgets of terrorists such as Assad, Hezbollah and Hamas. Israel will have to stay vigilant and maintain its capacity to counter Iran’s activities.” – Maj. Gen. (res.) Amos Yadlin, former head of the IDF’s Military Intelligence Directorate, July 14, 2015
