New American Job Center Opening in Montville; Employment Services, Career Center Offered WETHERSFIELD, March 28, 2018 – A new Connecticut Department of Labor American Job Center will open Monday, April 2 at 601 Norwich-New London Turnpike (Route 32) in Montville. The full-service office offers employment and unemployment services, including career counseling, re-employment workshops, résumé-writing assistance, specialized employment services for veterans and a career center with computers, internet service, phones and fax machines. For employers, a Business Service Specialist will be available to meet with companies or organizations to explore programs that can help benefit their business, including recruitment services, tax credit programs, training grants and apprenticeship programs. The job center will also be staffed with an Unemployment Insurance Benefits Specialist to answer questions regarding unemployment claims and assist those that need help using the online filing system. “We are excited to offer this new job center to the public, as it offers a wide variety of employment services, convenient parking, easy access by car or bus, conference rooms for workshops and recruitment events, and a full-service career center,” said Labor Commissioner Scott D. Jackson. “We invite the public to come visit us and our workforce partners at this new location in eastern Connecticut and see how we can help with your workforce needs.” With the opening of this new job center, services that were provided at the former Norwich and New London offices will be consolidated into the centralized Montville location.
