Majestic fresco in Cobo Center nears completion Throughout the summer, the public watched renowned Detroit artist, Hubert Massey, paint a permanent fresco masterpiece at the riverside entrance of the Grand Riverview Ballroom within Cobo Center. The piece will be finished before summer's end, and the public is invited to witness history in the making while Massey finishes his 30-foot-by-30-foot legacy piece. "The voice of the Detroit community has been a part of this project from the very beginning and it is important to embrace their voice and spirit with continued involvement as we move into the next phase,” said Massey. "The arts are at the heart of everything Detroit, and it's great to have Cobo Center make it an even bigger part for visitors from all over the world to see." An installation of several signs near the completed fresco is planned to inform visitors of the artist's biography, donors for the project and an explanation of the elements of the piece.

NAIAS IN COBO CENTER MOVES TO JUNE IN 2020 for companies as well as creating new experiences for attendees,” said Michigan Governor Rick Snyder. Auto show dynamics are changing globally as the auto industry undergoes its biggest shift in more than a century. With this, auto makers are seeking out increasingly creative ways to debut vehicles and engage with consumers. Plans have been underway for more than a year as NAIAS stands ready to embrace this evolution with its move to June. The new plans provide a fresh international platform for hundreds of brands to highlight their innovations. The most exciting aspect of the North American International Auto Show's (NAIAS) announcement to move their annual January trade show to June in 2020 was the peek they gave us of their expanded floor plans, now making use of the outdoor areas surrounding Cobo Center and into downtown Detroit. “Moving the show to the summer opens up new opportunities

What's In Sight Must Be Right Kudos to the housekeeping team for spending the summer months cleaning carpets, upholstery, windows and every nook and cranny of the building. Our customers are noticing! Thanks to the event managers for the new sustainability section in the event resumes, documenting communication with show managers on opportunities to make their events Green in Cobo Center. Sustainability Lives Here! The Hubert Massey fresco outside the Grand Riverview Ballroom will soon be finished. It was a real honor to watch this masterpiece develop. Please be sure to thank Hubert before Sept. 7 for helping to make Cobo Center more beautiful.

"It's a total game changer, Rod Alberts is always ahead of the curve," said Claude Molinari, general manager for Cobo Center. "I'm really excited about the future of this event and where we're going!" A sampling of outdoor experiential activities might include: •

“The potential to create a monthlong automotive festival in Detroit starting with the Detroit Grand Prix, going through our show and concluding with the nationally celebrated fireworks on the river, will provide an unmatched festival like experience for all attendees,” said Alberts, executive director of NAIAS. Weaving the event into the current festivals and attractions normally going on in the Motor City during the month of June may be an event planning disruption that leads the industry to new heights. Stay tuned.
