Several city of Elkhart streets closed due to flooding ELKHART (February 20, 2018) – Due to high water levels, Mayor Tim Neese is urging residents to continue to exercise caution during the evening commute. Several streets throughout the city of Elkhart have been closed due to flooding. These streets include:  Old Farm Drive, Entrance to Old Farm Apartments from Mishawaka Road. Residents can still access the apartments via the Bent Oak entrance off of County Road 7  Arch Street, avoid area  Folsom Street, avoid area

All city of Elkhart Parks are also closed until further notice. If you come across a flooded road that has not

already been barricaded, please report it to Elkhart City Dispatch at 293-2175 as soon as it is safe to do so. If you are in danger, call 911. As a reminder, residents in need of sandbags during the evening hours are encouraged to call John Faigh of the Elkhart Emergency Management Department at 970-7996. Sandbags will be delivered as requests are received, with priority given in areas with the greatest flood potential, including areas near the Elkhart and St. Joseph River. The city continues to monitor conditions and will provide updates as needed or as conditions change. These updates will be posted on the city’s website at www.elkhartindiana.org. -30-
