Spotlight on Job Placement Services New recruitment services and job portal offered for SMEs targeting low and middle-skilled positions One of the goals of RisiAlbania is to address the weak job matching services available to low and middle skilled people in Albania. In this regard, on June 16, 2014 RisiAlbania and ÇELËSI sh.p.k (www.celesi.com) signed a cooperation agreement. This cooperation aims to establish a new recruitment service and job portal for SMEs targeting low and middle-skilled positions. “ÇELËSI” newspaper has become an important player in the market as the prime medium where low and middle-skilled job seekers go to find information about job opportunities. Risi Albania will support Çelesi to develop a new Human Resource service as well as a comprehensive new job portal. It is expected that the new service will become available to SMEs and job seekers by September 2014.

The National Employment Services (NES) collaborate with Tourism businesses to improve their services In June, RisiAlbania and NES organized round tables in five touristic regions across the country with the participation of over 150 representatives from the tourism sector and Employment Offices. Tourism businesses received for the first time information about the Employment Office’s services regarding job information and intermediation, training and Active Labour Market Programmes (ALMP). The roundtables also served to obtain feedback and recommendations from the businesses in the tourism sector: what are their needs and how should these be fulfilled? The lively and open discussion allowed all participants to identify the main areas of improvement for NES services as well as issue some important recommendations, including:  NES should identify the skills needed for the tourism sector and organize corresponding trainings during the period January-May.  NES should update regularly the database of trained candidates  A specific ALMP should be developed to support employment tourism In the coming months, RisiAlbania will be supporting NES to respond to these recommendations.

Supporting the food processing sector Launch of the ‘RisiMarketing Inititative’ with Bizness Albania: improving marketing services and growth potential for food processors Quality marketing services are key for food processors to grow. However, the relationship between processors and marketing consultants is inefficient and inadequate to say the least. For the first time, food processors and service providers came together on June 17th 2014, with the aim to jointly explore suitable solutions for developing and providing adequate marketing services. The kick-off event of the RisiMarketing Initiative represented an important milestone for the combined efforts of BiznessAlbania (www.biznesalbania.org.al) and RisiAlbania to help improve the growth potential of the sector. Led by local consultants and an international expert, the World Café enabled participants to jointly explore the respective needs and offers of food processors and business consultants. Using the outcomes of the World Cafe and co-facilitated by BiznessAlbania, the RisiMarketing Initiative will develop an innovative training and coaching programme that will improve the quality and adequacy of business services provided to food processors by consultants. With high quality marketing services, Albanian food processors will be able to fulfill their untapped potential and grow further.

Collaboration with AFI to increase access of food processors to public support schemes Recent research has showed that many food processors, especially women, are not well-informed on the existing support schemes available (national and international), missing out on many opportunities to grow. To tackle this issue, on 30th May 2014, RisiAlbania signed a cooperation agreement with the Albanian Food Industry Association (AFI). In a first stage, this cooperation aims at delivering readily accessible and valuable information to food processors, especially women-owned, regarding the different support schemes, thereby supporting their application process. In a second stage, AFI, together with its members and other food processors, will advocate for and participate in the design and review of the support schemes, thereby increasing their relevance and applicability.
