Welcome to our first newsletter. We’ve had some big changes over the past few months and wanted to keep you up to date with these changes and with some of what we’ve been up to in the past few months. We plan to have this newsletter updated on a quarterly basis to keep you informed of what we’re up to. ABZ Business Park

Challenge us!

We recently completed a range of illuminated and non-illuminated signage for SPX Corporation at their new premises in ABZ Business Park, Dyce.

We don’t just do ‘normal’ signage. As experienced by the European Tour earlier this year, why not give us a phone when you are looking for something different for a display!

As part of this work we took care of everything from design, through gaining planning consent to installation of the signage both internally and externally.

Introductory offer on vehicle graphics or pop up banners ordered before 31/1/15*.

Welcome to Olive! Opened in 1996 by Jim Gifford, Signs Express (Aberdeen) has built up an enviable reputation in the area and is part of the UK and Ireland’s largest signs and graphics franchise. Jim recently decided to sell on the business to Olive to enable him to concentrate more on his political career. The re-sale of Signs Express (Aberdeen) appealed to Olive as she’s had previous experience of managing her own, successful business and she was able to see the potential of the long established sign company. Olive said, “With a long history in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, Signs Express has an excellent reputation and a solid customer base so I was very interested in taking on the opportunity. I could see the vast potential of signs and graphics as every organisation uses them.”

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Go Local!

We have recently started working with Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, helping to update their wayfinding signage as part of a large revamp following the completion of their Emergency Care Centre (ECC).

Signs Express undertook a survey earlier this year with Small to Medium Enterprises (SME’s) to compare with a similar one carried out in 2011.

This work involves providing a wide range of signage solutions which are suitable for a hospital environment and can be changed/replaced easily where required. Angie MacDonald of NHS Grampian Project Team said “The NHSG Project Team at ARI are very pleased with the recent work that Sign Express has completed. Your competitive prices, great communication and quick installation has made this a very pleasant service and we would be more than happy to use your services again in the future.”

This van was recently completed for Exova (Aberdeen) following their move into new premises at ABZ Business Park, Dyce. Following contact with ourselves in Aberdeen they now have a national contract with Signs Express which will see their fleet of vans liveried to the high standards of Signs Express branches throughout the UK.

If your company would like to discuss updating your wayfinding signage please do not hesitate to give us a call and we would be happy to discuss your requirements and how we could help.

This survey showed that there was little difference between companies who preferred to buy local in 2011 and in 2014. Over 77% of businesses in the UK said it was broadly important to deal with local suppliers (27% very important and 50% quite important) with most stating that supporting the local economy and accessibility of the supplier if there is a problem as key factors.

Shopping Locally Many local/regional companies prefer to buy their signage from another local company. At Signs Express (Aberdeen) we are a local company with National support so we have access to large companies and also discounted materials due to Signs Express buying power.

of Small to Medium Enterprises in Scotland think that is is quite or very important to buy signage locally*.
