JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

Our Jump Off Day will be held on Tuesday, 12th September. There are two options for fundraising. Students can either sign up online at jumprope.org.au or you can fill out a Sponsorship Form and bring the cash in to school at the end of the program.

MINDFULNESS

Yesterday’s visit from the Khedubje Kadampa Buddhist Centre was well attended by staff, students and families.

READING WITH YOUR CHILD

The message for the day was demonstrated in a fun way with lots of colourful balloons. The students had to try to keep all the balloons in the air at once – an impossible task! Just like trying to juggle the many thoughts in our head. Take a few minutes each day to let your thoughts peacefully drift to the floor and rest there!

There will be a live science show, native animal encounters and plenty of kids activities and competitions. Also lots of information about sustainable living.

Real aloud to children. It helps them to learn the language of books and will encourage them to enjoy books and reading. Talk about books, read together and make reading an enjoyable shared activity. Make sure there is a wide range of reading material for your child at home. Try not to let television intrude on reading time. Make a special time for reading with your child, away from interruptions. Listen to your child read every day, even for a short time. Give books as treats and presents.

BOOK WEEK PARADE Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Jessie from Toy Story, a mummy and Darth Vader all here at school for the Book Week Parade. The students looked amazing and had a great time dressed as their favourite book character!
