Director’s Message “The Key is in our hand”

Just One Point

Dr.S.K.Mahapatra

Too often we find in our lives, opportunity to enter through the front door is rare and though we get close enough to knock the door, we find the door tightly locked. What we do thereafter decides where and how far we go in our lives. Barrack Obama was denied an entry to the Hall where a Democratic Convention was taking place. He found a way to get himself not only into the Hall but also found the door that opened his path to enter the White House. He found a new door to enter the Hall, not literally but by backing himself up with new ideas and executing those ideas to get himself an invitation as a Presidential Nominee. He went on to win the election and get into text of history as the first Black President of the United States. The key to open the Door for entering the magical Room of Success, Happiness, Fame and Fortune, has always been there in every hand.. Often we miss out as it's a big bunch. But if we are observant, careful, patient yet determined and systematic, try with some logic of elimination and selection, we may figure out a few keys initially for trial and the only one eventually that would open the Door to our Wonderland. Actually, we learn and get to practice this method while preparing for every examination in our school or college. Between nursery to graduation, our rank in examination keeps changing depending upon our practice. Yet, when we come out of School to enter the World of Work in Society or Business, most people seem to think there is a quick fix or easy fix to pass through the door. It's simply not there. School life teaches us all the ways to be successful, famous, prosperous and happy. We have to be observant and practice more with a logical mind. The Key is in our hand, in your hand for you to find and in my hand for me. THAT KEY IS YOUR CREATIVITY.

The first day was filled with activities like Street Play, Mannequin Challenge, the Hyde Park Show & dance competitions wherein hundreds of students from colleges in Delhi NCR participated. The first day ended with a wonderful performance by “Befiama” - the Rock Band of IITians who belted out some beautiful English and Hindi songs.

The Final day began with singing competition wherein more than 35 teams participated. However the major attraction on this day was the performance by the Chief celebrity Ali Quli Mirza of the Big Boss fame, who gave a thunderous live performance on the evening of the final day. Hundreds flocked to the stage to enjoy this momentous performance.

Jaipuria School of Business has been sincerely engaging itself in introducing innovative practices over the last couple of years. The process for the rapid turnaround started with introduction of disruptive strategies at the commencement of fourth trimester for the second year students and first trimester for the freshers who joined in the PGDM Batch 2016-18. The Director’s message in the Institute website outlines the new strategy for the Business School in the VUCA world. The vision for the faculty is to create a future academy banking on “creativity”. Our faculty has taken upon the responsibility to nurture and take personal care of the students to help them grow and spread their wings to fly. As a part of our series of initiatives, we have started a BLOG wherein students and faculty share interesting ideas and theories on topics of interest. Blog writing is the next step to the initiative taken last year on Book Review by students. Since the students are being imparted writing and communications soft skills through a regular course of study, writing / blogging would help them express their ideas and thoughts more freely. The wheel has been set in motion . There is more to come. We sincerely hope that the efforts initiated to encourage students for an all round development to hone them up as future business leaders bears fruitful results. Cheers! Team JSB
