PURPOSE:
To Select a Coordinator for the KIC
The Kiowa Indian Council (KIC) is made up of all adult members of the Tribe who attend the Special Meeting on December 16, 2017. At least 150 people must attend to establish a quorum. Office of the Council and KIC Coordinator The Tribe’s new Constitution establishes an Office for the KIC called the “Office of the Council”, staffed by a part-time Coordinator. The KIC Coordinator is selected at the Annual Meeting of the KIC in April or at a Special Meeting of the KIC as needed. Legislature Calls Special Meeting On October 14, 2017, the Legislature of the Tribe called a Special Meeting of the KIC to be held on December 16, 2017, as allowed by the new Constitution. The sole purpose of the Special Meeting is to select a Coordinator for the KIC. Job Application for KIC Coordinator According to the new Constitution, any adult member of the Tribe may serve as the part-time KIC Coordinator. Anyone who is interested in serving may submit a written application or letter of interest to the Chairman of the Tribe. On November 16, 2017, the Chairman will publish the list of persons who applied for the job of KIC Coordinator. APPLY FOR THE KIC COORDINATOR.
