Following the race, Keelan Baker reported that his saddle slipped on INDIGO PRINCESS, placed fifth, and Luke Catton reported that FREUD (FR), placed third, was slowly away. The Veterinary Officer reported that the winner, CHANNEL PACKET, lost its left hind shoe and EXECUTOR, placed seventh, lost its left fore shoe. Race 2 - 6:00pm. Approaching the 4 furlong marker, AMOREENA, unplaced, hung right whilst running greenly carrying ANTONIA CLARA, placed second, onto AWARDED, unplaced, which stumbled and in turn caused the rider of PINARELLA (FR), placed third, to take a slight check but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved. Race 3 - 6:30pm. THE SMARKETS BETTING EXCHANGE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5)

Following the race, Kevin Lundie reported that SECRET ASSET (IRE), placed eighth of eight, stopped quickly. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities. The Veterinary Officer further reported that the winner, TALLINSKI (IRE), lost its right fore shoe. Race 4 - 7:00pm. THE SMARKETS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4)

Prior to this race, an enquiry was held with the representative of David O’Meara, the trainer of ALEEF (IRE), into the reasons why they were running the gelding here at Nottingham on going officially described as Good to Firm, having reported that ALEEF (IRE) was unsuited by the Good to Firm going at Epsom on 12 July 2018, and would prefer an easier surface. The representative explained that in hindsight, the report was an accumulation of being unsuited by the downhill configuration of Epsom on the Good to Firm ground and that ALEEF (IRE) would be better suited by the Good to Firm on Nottingham’s flatter, albeit undulating, track in their opinion. Following the race, Ben Robinson reported that DANDY’S DENOUEMENT, placed fifth, was denied a clear run inside the final ½ furlong. Race 5 - 7:30pm. THE smarkets.com FILLIES' HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4)

BEDWYYAH (IRE) wore earplugs throughout the race. Race 6 - 8:00pm. THE BEST RACING ODDS ON SMARKETS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6)

Permission was given for TURQUOISE BAY (USA) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post, and for MISCHIEVOUS ROCK to wear a hood in the parade ring. For some distance near the 2 furlong marker, NYALA, placed fifth, and TURQUOISE BAY (USA), placed second, made contact on several occasions when NYALA hung left and TURQUOISE BAY (USA) lugged right, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved. Just inside the 2 furlong marker, DORCAS, placed third, edged right briefly tightening MISCHIEVOUS ROCK, placed sixth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of DORCAS.

Approaching the 1 furlong marker NYALA which after hanging left for some distance was then corrected by its rider, before shifting right and hampering DORCAS but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved. An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong when the winner SEABOROUGH (IRE), ridden by Martin Harley interfered with NYALA, ridden by Robert Winston. The interference was found to be accidental as SEABOROUGH (IRE) had shifted quickly left-handed away from the whip before being corrected, which resulted in Winston having to take a slight check. Following the race, Robert Winston reported that NYALA hung left and the representative of Chris Dwyer reported that TURQUOISE BAY (USA) had a breathing problem. Race 7 - 8:30pm. THE BET ON THE PREMIER LEAGUE WITH SMARKETS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6)
