Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions Services Art Group Imaginative session facilitated by a Bluecoat artist with support from Alzheimer’s Society staff, providing multi-sensory stimulation as well as social interaction. You don’t have to be artistic to get creative and express yourself by using a variety of materials in a supportive environment where everyone’s contribution is respected and valued. Dance and Movement An exhilarating session for people living with dementia and their carers facilitated by a Merseyside Dance Initiative Dance Artist with support from Alzheimer’s Society staff. Incorporating a variety of props, music and movement styles, the sessions are certain to get the endorphins flowing and the body moving. With enjoyment the common goal, experienced movers and novice shakers of all ages are welcome; just be sure to bring comfortable shoes and a sense of adventure! Music and Wellbeing Music can help us relax, express feelings, interact with others and bring a smile to our face. This one hour session will include activities such as warm-ups with vowel sounds, rhythm, conducting, passing the lead with use of tambourines and drums. Both before and after the hour session there is time set aside for a drink and a chat. At the end of the project we aim to produce a recording you can take away with you. Reading Aloud

This friendly and welcoming group hopes to encourage a real sense of friendship and togetherness focusing on the lasting benefit of reading that will hopefully extend beyond the group. The routine is crucial: when stressed you can always look forward to the next group. They’re a safe-haven. No phone calls. No interruptions. Singing for the Brain A friendly social group bringing together people living with dementia and their carers through music and song. Maintaining Skills Groups With two groups tailored to fit the needs of both older people and younger people, we aim to engage people living with dementia in activities to promote memory and other skills affected by dementia. There is also the opportunity for carers to chat and share experiences.
