RECORD SHATTERING WARMTH IN NOVEMBER Average November 2017 temperatures at both the ABQ Sunport and Roswell’s Airport not only set new all-time records, but they shattered previous records. Normally, monthly temperature records are separated by a tenth or two, not whole degrees!

Upper Level Forecast Charts Valid 6pm MDT Dry pattern to persist with unseasonably warm temperatures trending downward somewhat by Sunday. Anomalously strong high pressure system to dominate first part of the weekend before it weakens and shifts eastward. Clouds may thicken across far southern NM by Sunday.

Synopsis: A trough of low pressure and an associated cold front will impact New Mexico today. Stronger winds will persist over the central highlands to the Sangre de Cristos with daytime high temperatures running several degrees cooler. Some light precipitation will be possible along portions of the central mountain chain tonight, shifting to the southern tier of New Mexico into the day Tuesday. Temperatures will continue to cool into Tuesday, running 5 to 10 degrees below normal over much of northern and central New Mexico. Temperatures will stay near to slightly below normal into Wednesday with light precipitation lingering over southern New Mexico, and another cold front will then arrive into the Land of Enchantment Wednesday night and Thursday.
