Online Community Officer (& Capacity Building)

Full-time position to start as of 1st August 2016 9 months contract (renewable depending on funding) Your tasks The Online Community Officer will be in charge of the platform management and social media presence of Consumer Champion (a capacity building programme www.consumerchampion.eu). She/he will report to the Senior Capacity Building Officer and will – among other – take over the following tasks:  Create buzz and foster community spirit around the programme and build engagement with interested communities to bring them closer to the European Consumer Affairs; 

Update and/or create regularly the content on the web pages;



Reach out to potential users and promote the programme among the eligible organisations;



Guide and moderate users as well as discussion forums, Q&A and blogs and encourage participation on the platform;



Regularly report, analyse and provide strategic input to increase the community engagement;



Support the capacity building team in the implementation and development of the programme.

Candidate Profile  The candidate will have proven experience of successful community building and social media communication, and an extensive knowledge of the social media landscape;  S/he must have excellent knowledge of spoken and written English. Good knowledge of French and/or additional EU language is an asset;  S/he must have some experience and/or understanding of capacity building, and EU Affairs (experience in EU funded projects is an asset);  The successful candidate will be an assertive team player with excellent personal communication skills. Familiarity with a variety of relevant social media platforms and tools and web pages updating and writing, a sound knowledge of Drupal is required; Excellent writing and presentation skills are essential; Interest in and willingness to learn about consumer affairs.
