Lunaphore Technologies is a young start-up company active in the In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) field developing a product based on a microfluidic technology to analyze tissue samples for cancer diagnostics. To manage the growing pipeline of investors and business partners, Lunaphore is seeking a highly-motivated candidate to join the team for a permanent full-time position in our offices at EPFL Innovation Park. We expect the person will support and manage the business development and fundraising from the ideation phase to the post-contractual relation.

Key responsibilities As the Business Development Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and will: Identify, evaluate, pipeline, follow-up and close partnership and investment opportunities. Serve as a nexus at Lunaphore for existing and potential business partners, subsidiaries and investors. Organize and attend investment, partnership and networking events. Present Lunaphore in such events and meetings. Build, organize, and maintain targeted documentation and presentations relating to the company, to its products and to its technology. Assist and/or replace the CEO and management team for ordinary meetings with business partners and investors. Create, elaborate and evaluate financial models and projections. You will oversee all contractual correspondence with all third parties as well as the preparation, completeness and management of the due diligence rooms.

Skills You have excellent written and oral presentation skills and body language. Investor pitch training and experience is a very strong plus. You have natural comprehension of complex interdisciplinary problems. You can effectively communicate technical, medical, business and financial content. You easily identify the essence. You have a sound understanding of private equity and venture capital terms, in addition to the context of general business contract terms. You have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage deadlines, multiple priorities, and deliver results with limited supervision. You have experience with financial and accounting documents and methods (e.g. CF, P&L, BS, DCF, ROI...) You are comfortable with preparing and reading related excel sheets. You have excellent knowledge of other Microsoft Office software programs (Word, PowerPoint). You can adapt in a constantly changing environment. You enjoy being in contact with people and building business relationships. It is obvious for you to naturally initiate contacts and cold calls. You find your motivation in personal and professional challenges. Risk taking is a part of your everyday life. You are a team player and quick learner. You are comfortable on the presentation stage. You’ll be travelling within Switzerland and abroad. Frequency of travel changes with respect to time of the year and stage of the start-up.

Preferred qualifications Ideal candidate has a degree in a Biology, Bioengineering, Microsystems or related scientific field followed by an MBA or a degree in Management of Technology. Candidates with a business school degree with a sound understanding of technical field are also welcome to apply. 2+ years experience in Business Development or in a related position.
