Opportunity Day!! This year, all 8th grade students are invited to participate in the 4th 9 weeks Opportunity Day at Cedar Point in Sandusky on Wednesday, May 31st, sponsored in part by the PAK Club. Students who choose to attend the fun day will arrive at school on that day at the normal time, but will then board the busses at approximately 8:45 am in order to arrive at the park by 11:00 am. We depart Cedar Point at 7:30 PM and return to Edison at approximately 10:00 PM at which time parents must pick up their child. Students will need additional money for food at the park. Students who go to Cedar Point will choose a buddy of the same gender for the day in order to look out for each other. The buddies will then be assigned to a group along with chaperones who will meet at checkpoints during the day for attendance purposes. More details on procedures will follow in May. Students who are interested in participating MUST purchase their ticket from April 10th – April 28th. Seats cannot be guaranteed after these dates. The cost of the trip will be $75, which takes care of admission, charter bus ride, and drink bracelet (cost for those with season passes will be $35). Please make checks payable to Edison Middle School. Money and permission slips must be returned together. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON!! Requirements to attend
If you qualified for either the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Opportunity Day, you must meet all of the following in order to attend the trip: 1) Have paid all fines, fees, lunch money, overdue books, etc. 2) No OSS or AEP during the 4th 9 weeks (April 3rd – May 31st) 3) No more than 3 days of detention during the 4th 9 weeks (April 3rd – May 31st)
OR If you have NOT qualified for a previous Opportunity Day, you must meet all of the following in order to attend the trip: 1) Have paid all fines, fees, lunch money, overdue books, etc. 2) Meet all Opportunity Day qualifications during the 4th 9 weeks (No missing homework assignments, projects, or tests; No OSS; No AEP; No more than 3 days detention, No more than 3 late homework per class - 5 overall) Be sure that you meet (or are sure you can meet) all of the requirements before purchasing your ticket.
