Poverty is not a character flaw; It is a business challenge! You are invited to join us on an:

Opportunity International Rotary In-Sight Trip to Honduras Wednesday, January 23rd — Wednesday, January 30th

This up close and personal trip will allow you to meet entrepreneurs like Maria.

Trip Features:

Always an artist, Maria has become a businesswoman. Before her first loan from Opportunity, she sold handicrafts out of her home. Today, she has her own shop where she creates and sells her artwork and offers crafts from throughout Latin America. Maria’s loan officer has consistently encouraged her to expand her business and that has made all the difference for her income. But Maria has expanded her horizons as well, through training from Opportunity and by earning a degree in accounting while studying at night.

“The loans have changed my life,” Maria says. “If I continued working the way I was before the loans, my poverty now would be enormous. Without help from Opportunity, I probably would have ended up working as a housemaid, but now I am a professional.” Opportunity International is providing more than working capital it is teaching the entrepreneurial poor how to make money work for them.

Microfinance is providing a solid foundation of hope for our clients and their children.
