THE NURSE FACULTY LOAN PROGRAM The NFLP provides funds to eligible schools of nursing that offer advanced education nursing programs to prepare graduates to serve as faculty in a school of nursing. The NFLP fund must provide for loans made to students enrolled (full-time and part-time) in an eligible advanced degree program in nursing (master's or doctoral) at the school. Loan recipients must complete the education program and, following graduation, may cancel up to 85% of the NFLP loan over a consecutive 4-year period while serving as full-time nurse faculty at a school of nursing (i.e., baccalaureate or higher degree, associate degree or diploma schools of nursing). HEALTH RESOURCES AND SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (HRSA): An agency in the Department of Health and Human Services that puts primary health-care providers and services in the places they are needed most. HRSA administers the Ryan White CARE Act Titles I, II, III(b), IV, SPNS, and AETCs (see Ryan White CARE Act) to provide treatment and services for those affected by HIV/AIDS. HRSA administers programs to demonstrate how communities can organize their health-care resources to develop an integrated, comprehensive, culturally competent system to care for those with AIDS and HIV infection. HRSA also administers education and training programs for health-care providers and community service workers who care for persons living with HIV/AIDS.
