The ParlWork web application provides  access to public information about the work of the Senate and House of Representatives. It brings together a breadth  of information relating to the agendas, legislative work, notices of motions, resolutions and the decisions made by each  House. Parliamentarians and anyone interested in following the proceedings of Parliament while each House is in session will find this to be valuable and an information rich resource. ParlWork supplements a number of existing parliamentary information resources such as the Parliament of Australia website and ParlInfo search.

Functionality Home page The home page provides quick access via the tiles to the Live updates, Notices of Motion, Bills pages, Question on Notice and Questions in Writing. Users can also access the Help, About Us, FAQ, Tip sheet, Feedback and Contact Us pages via the menu.

Live pages – Senate, House and Federation Chamber During proceedings, the current item of business displays the current or live business item being discussed. Clicking the current item of business will direct users to a more detailed paged with additional information related to that item. The Live Pages also display the agenda (sourced from the Senate’s Order of Business and the House Daily Program) and lists upcoming business (sourced from the Senate and House Notice Papers).

Dynamic Red and Live Minutes The Dynamic Red information allows you to monitor Senate business as it progresses through the sitting day. It provides outcome information corresponding to items of business, with links to associated Bills, amendments, running sheets and documents. The Live Minutes are a draft record of the proceedings of the House of Representatives as they occur, and are subject to revision (the official record of proceedings is the Votes and Proceedings).

Bills page The Bills list page displays a list of the Bills for the current Parliament. Users can search via the predefined filters or the advanced search function. Once the desired Bill is located, click it to access the detailed information page relating to the Bill (including access to Bill related documents).

Notices of Motion pages The Notices of Motions page is sourced from Senate and House Notice Papers and displays a list of all the Notices of Motion (not orders) yet to be moved before the Parliament. Users have the ability use pre-set filters or text search the motions via this page.

Questions on Notice and Questions in Writing Information relating to Senate questions on notice and House questions in writing is accessible via the respective tiles. From here you have access to the text of questions and answers together with related information such as the dates for questions asked and when answers were provided. Senators and members can keep track of questions that remain unanswered by using the filters on the left-hand side.

Setting up ParlWork on your device Windows or Apple computer 1. Visit parlwork.aph.gov.au from your preferred internet browser 2. Click, hold and drag the Parliament House logo in the web address bar onto your desktop 3. The ParlWork shortcut should be accessible on your desktop, it can be renamed if required.

iOS device (iPhones and iPads) 1. Visit parlwork.aph.gov.au from your preferred internet browser 2. Click the ‘Share’ button 3. Click the ‘Add to Home Screen’ button 4. The ParlWork shortcut should be accessible on your desktop, it can be renamed if required.

Android device 1. Visit parlwork.aph.gov.au from your preferred internet browser 2. Click the menu button located at bottom left of the device (opposite back button) 3. Click ‘Add to home screen’ 4. The ParlWork shortcut should be accessible from your home screen, it can be renamed if required.
