VOLUNTEER F.A.Q. VOLUNTEERING FOR RIFFLANDIA FESTIVAL
The volunteer team is absolutely integral to the success of our festivals. Without this group of incredibly dedicated and passionate people, we couldn’t do what we do! Every year we are completely blown away by how professional and enthusiastic our volunteers are and we are always confident in having them be ambassadors for our festival. If you love being a part of a hard-working, music-loving, fun-having team then volunteering for Rifflandia Festival is for you!
ABOUT RIFFLANDIA FESTIVAL
Rifflandia, now in it’s eighth year, is a large-scale music festival that transforms the city of Victoria into one big musical bonanza. Rifflandia has quickly become one of Western Canada’s most exciting annual music events, featuring a truly diverse line-up of acclaimed Canadian and International artists.
THE RIFFLANDIA FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER TIMELINE
1) Fill out the online application form through our Shiftboard website. 2) Once your application has been approved, you will be placed in to teams based on your interests and previous experience. 3) Available volunteer shifts will be posted to the calendar in Shiftboard and YOU get you pick the shifts you sign up for. 4) Closer to the festival you will attend a volunteer orientation and sign a volunteer contract and waiver. 5) Come to the festival, sign-in and pick-up your tee-shirt, rock your shift, and have an amazing time volunteering at the Rifflandia Festival! 6) After the festival, you will be invited to an exclusive volunteer appreciation party.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Rifflandia offers many unique volunteer opportunities in a wide variety of festival departments. Some examples of volunteer roles at the festival include: -Artlandia -Box Office & Will Call -Green Team -Set-up & Tear Down -Transportation Team
VOLUNTEER F.A.Q. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM OUR VOLUNTEERS:
To commit to and complete either: - 3 volunteer shifts DURING the festival - 4 volunteer shifts BEFORE/AFTER the festival - To show up 10 minutes early for shifts - To wear the volunteer tee-shirt while on shift - To be respectful, to not consume alcohol or other substances while on shift, to ask questions and voice concerns, and to be a positive ambassador for the festival
BREAKOUT WEST 2015
This year Rifflandia Festival and Breakout West will run concurrently in Victoria. We are providing opportunities to volunteer for both festivals. Breakout West is a fantastic gathering of musicians and music industry professionals from all across Western Canada that includes a festival, conference, and the Western Canadian Music Awards. We are looking for a variety of enthusiastic, dedicated people to support this event. Please be sure to select it on your application if you would like to learn more.
