Salary per Annum: $58,725 Benefits: Eligible for 100% employer paid benefits, including MSP premium coverage, health and dental plans, and matching pension plan contributions. Job Summary Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the comprehensive coordination of maintenance and repairs including corrective and preventative maintenance of building systems and day-to-day upkeep for the shelter program of three buildings. The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor must supervise a team of nine internal janitors, all contractors, and have the capacity to work with the Residential Facilities Coordinator when required. Qualifications Equivalent to three years post-secondary education, or an equivalent level of completed education and training from a recognized related institution. •



More than three to five years of full-time experience consisting of facilities maintenance and operations oversite at a supervisory level, recent plant operations, or maintenance experience within a commercial/hospital/school facility. Must have experience supervising a team of maintenance and janitorial staff.

Required to complete the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check prior to commencement of employment. Responsibilities • Supervises all three shelters’ janitorial staff, maintenance related contractors, vendors, and volunteers. • Develops and carries out inspection and maintenance programs that ensure ongoing safety, longevity, cleanliness, efficiency, and appearance of all three shelter properties. • Ensures that all aspects of the building infrastructure are operating efficiently. This includes all electrical, mechanical, and structural (HVAC, elevator, plumbing, etc.) systems. • Ensures all municipal and provincial compliance issues, including those related to WorkSafeBC, health and safety, fire, security, boiler, and elevator, are followed. • Maintains complete and accurate maintenance records and filing system. Skills & Abilities • Demonstrated knowledge of methods, practices, and materials in building maintenance and renovations. • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and manage building issues as they arise. • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, building, roofing, and mechanical systems. • Ability to motivate, train, and assign work for building and maintenance job related procedures, codes, standards, and rules. • Ability to prioritize and manage workload, assess assignments, and adjust or adapt as needed. • Ability to direct and perform quality maintenance in a cost-effective manner. • Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, and vendors.
