Hourly Wage Rate: $18.82 Job Summary: Reporting to the DCC Coordinator, the Community Centre Worker supports the daily activities of the Downtown Community Centre each Saturday. The primary responsibilities for this position include: maintaining a safe and clean environment for all, providing support in the facilitation of recreational programs, helping to ensure programs run as scheduled, and ensuring that any necessary clean-up of kitchen and/or storage of supplies is completed at close of shift. Qualifications: A certificate in a related human/social services and/or recreation field and one to three years recent related experience. Current First Aid Level I certification. Required to complete the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check prior to commencement of employment. Skills & Abilities: • Excellent interpersonal behaviour and communication skills • Able to take direction and work inter-dependently • High energy, enthusiastic, and positive approach • Familiar with a harm reduction philosophy-of-care • Able to recognize and manage aggressive behaviours • Excellent computer skills Panel Interview: Yes
