for games October 3 – 9, 2016 (Week 6) West Chester University’s Sarah Krause is the Philafieldhockey.com Goalkeeper of the Week. The senior goalkeeper posted 16 saves and allowed 4 goals – an .80 save percentage -- in the Golden Rams’ two games last week. Against No. 8 Kutztown, Krause notched six saves and allowed only one in the 4-1 victory. Earlier in the week, Krause was instrument in the team’s highly competitive match versus No. 1 Shippensburg. Despite the 1-3 loss, Krause made 10 saves. Both games were in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). The week prior was record-breaking for Krause. She set an NCAA Division II school record with 15 saves as the team upset No. 2 East Stroudsburg 3-1, in a PSAC matchup and continued to impress with 10 saves despite falling to Indiana 3-2 in overtime. Krause's performance broke her own school record of 13 saves, while also establishing a new career best. She received a pair of honors for her performance, including PSAC Athlete of the Week in addition to ECAC Division II Defensive Player of the Week. Overall, Krause totaled 16 saves last week and 25 saves the week prior in four matches for the Golden Rams. “Sarah has had a tremendous two weeks of field hockey in the goal to help turn our team in the right direction,” said Amy Cohen, West Chester Head Coach. “She has been solid between the pipes and has done an excellent job helping to lead our defense. Our win over Kutztown Saturday night was a complete and total team effort and Sarah's play in the back was vital to our success.”
