pool noodle challenge! Picnic Plates What materials and setup are needed for your activity? You need a couple of different colored pool noodles, a set of plastic plates, plastic cups, and/or plastic bowls, the more colorful the better! Cut the pool noodles into small 1 inch sections to be your game pieces. Find a spacious area to play the game - a large room, a long hallway, or a backyard would work perfectly!

How do we do your activity? Arrange the cups, bowls, and plates surrounding the person playing the game in a circular way, in a line, or any pattern you choose! It’s best to have some linear sections (for vergences). Try to throw the pool noodle game piece into the cup closest to you, then throw another into the bowl which is a little farther away, then another into the farthest target - the plate! Once you’ve completed a line, try to fill in another line completely and then finish the entire circle. Try to fill all the cups, plates, and bowls with game pieces! Multiple players can play the game by changing the set up into lines and each player trying to get the most plates, bowls, and cups filled with game pieces in one line in the fastest time. If you are doing the activity outside, the activity works best if it’s not too windy. A long hallway works well for this activity too.
