Welcome to the 14th year of Piping Live! We have put together a fantastic programme and this year’s festival is scheduled to attract over 40,000 spectators to more than 150 events over 7 days.

The festival makes use of a number of excellent venues throughout the city. George Square will again be a hub for the festival with daily pipe band performances and intimate performances from featured musicians. Don’t forget to visit our Pipers’ Market and look out for the Piping Live! Big Band’s arrival on Monday who are parading to raise money for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. At The National Piping Centre, our Auditorium and Street Café will be open throughout the week with something for everyone including come and try sessions, museum tours, performances, talks, product launches, whisky and gin tastings and our late night festival club. We return to the Strathclyde Suite of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for our annual International Quartet Competition, the Pipe Idol Final and the Pipe Major Alasdair Gillies Memorial Recital Challenge. Drygate provides an excellent venue for Friday’s concert with the Peatbog Faeries and Jose Manuel Tejedor Trio.
