Position Announcement Behavior and Autism Coach/Consultant The Hamilton County Educational Service Center has an opening for the position of Behavior and Autism Coach/Consultant for the 2017-2018 school year. POSITION DESCRIPTION: As related to autism and behavior: x To serve as a leader, collaborator, and content expert in PK-12 teaching and learning to districts and community partners. x To provide coaching and consultation to school teams. x To develop and deliver professional development for teachers and administrators in evidence based instruction, assessment, and intervention. QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree or beyond in Education, Educational Leadership, or Related Services (SLP, School Psychology, BCBA, etc.) with emphasis in Autism and Behavior; Valid ODE License or ability to obtain one is required; Previous teaching experience and demonstrated success in the field of behavior and/or autism required; must be able to travel to various locations on a daily basis. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Behavior and Autism Coach and/or Consultant to District Teams x Listen to current student behavioral struggles and working collaboratively and creatively to improve the difficulties. x Implement meaningful yet feasible ways to collect, analyze and utilize data to drive instructional practices. x Recommend and model appropriate evidence based interventions. x Model and assist school teams to conduct functional behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans. x Provide strategies, evidence based programs, and other information regarding social communication. x Design and modify environments that promote curricular engagement of all students. x Promote positive, collaborative, dependable, supportive, and responsive relationships with school team members. x Communicate clearly and frequently. 2. Professional Development x Lead, design, and deliver professional development to a diverse customer base. x Provide professional development for implementation of specific evidence based practices. x Serve as an active contributor to autism and behavior coaching team. x Provide consultation to support building/district educational leaders in the implementation of researchbased programs.

3. Leadership x Maintain professional expertise in order to accommodate the evolving needs of the organization and the customer base it serves. x Convene or connect to local and state content-related organizations, agencies and resources based upon organizational criteria. x Lead and/or support exemplary programs, resources, and strategies that represent best practices in curriculum, instruction and assessment. x Develop and maintain local networks within the field of behavior and/or autism. 4. Collaboration and Contribution to Organizational Prosperity x Support and align work to the priorities of the organization to serve customers. x Work in a collaborative, integrated environment to deliver high quality products and services to diverse customer base. x Provide input and active involvement in the development and delivery of appropriate services to customers. OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other tasks, as assigned by the Superintendent. SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary based on training and experience according to the established salary schedule.
