Position Title: Events Coordinator Reports To: Central DeWitt Performing Arts & Athletics Complex Committee Job Goal: Enhance the use of the Central DeWitt Performing Arts Center for school and community use through scheduling, marketing, and management of the facility. With general assignments from the Central DeWitt Performing Arts & Athletics Complex Committee, the employee determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it. Performance Responsibilities: Management 1. With the Board of Directors, develops annual goals and objectives for the Central DeWitt Performing Arts Center and implements plans, programs, policies, and procedures to meet goals and objectives 2. Manage and operate CDPAC within budget requirements 3. Knowledge of methods used in coordinating events for mass public attendance or in organizing and coordinating conferences, performing arts or other special events Programming 1. Monitors and assesses the artistic needs of the whole community; promotes artistic programs to develop public interest and participation in the fine and performing arts 2. Negotiates and develops contract terms and riders 3. Networks nationally and regionally with arts organizations to obtain top quality arts and entertainment for the lowest possible cost 4. Schedule and coordinate CDPAC calendar of events within the performing artist series and in conjunction with the CDPAC facility school use and rentals 5. Schedules light, sound, custodians, and stage technicians as needed Marketing 1. Prepares and implements the public relations and marketing programs 2. Monitors and directs the development of an overall marketing plan for the CDPAC 3. Prepares and presents oral and written reports, articles, publications and presentations regarding organizational activities in order to promote effective community relations Fundraising 1. Prepares, submits, and administers grant proposals to obtain federal, state, foundation, corporate, and individual funds for implementation of arts and entertainment projects and to augment other funding sources Preferred Qualifications, Experience, Skills: 1. Preference will be given to an applicant with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Marketing, or related field and/or experience directly related or a combination of education and experience 2. Preference will be given to an applicant with a working knowledge of the entertainment industry including booking, program development, promotion, production and budgeting 3. Must be able and available to work nights and weekends, as needed 4. Basic knowledge of contracts, budgets, and accounting 5. Experience in public relations, marketing, sales strategies, and best marketing practices (small performing arts centers experience would be a plus)

6. Experience in working with and for a Board of Directors will be essential as well as the ability to manage volunteers 7. Ability to present information clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing 8. Experience preparing, analyzing and administering budgets, and preparing and presenting reports and maintaining proper records 9. Knowledge of computer applications and ability to use technology to complete daily and assigned tasks appropriate to the position Terms of Employment: Hourly wage will be determined at time of hiring and based on experience and/or education. This will be a classified position with a varied and irregular work schedule.
