PRE-EVENT INFO BROCHURE Weekend Warriors, the Defqon.1 Festival weekend is fast approaching and your ultimate Defqon.1 weekend experience is just weeks away. Q-dance would like to thank you and your friends for your support in 2014. Please read this information carefully, it will tell you everything you need to know in preparation for your Defqon.1 adventure.

TRANSPORT

Sunday Morning Breakfast: 7:30am – 9:30am Hot & Cold Breakfast

PUBLIC TRANSPORT A shuttle bus will depart from the Northern side of Penrith train station to Defqon.1 Island on Friday the 19th September between 2:30pm and 9pm. After the event, on Sunday the 21st this same bus will bring you back to the train station. There will be Defqon.1 staff to assist in direction to the camping buses.

PRIVATE VEHICLE As Defqon.1 Camping visitors, you are guaranteed a parking spot at the festival site. Parking will be via the Gate C Entrance at the Regatta Centre, accessed from Old Castlereagh Rd. Parking is available between 2:30pm and 9:00pm on Friday the 19th of September. The parking fee for the entire weekend is $20.

CHECKING IN Please note that you can only check-in between 3pm and 9pm on Friday the 19th of September. Once you've arrived by Car or Shuttle Bus, you'll need to grab your gear and your mates, and head to the Defqon.1 Main Entrance. There are no pass outs from the Camping Site, so please make sure that you bring everything you need to the entrance when you arrive.

PRE PARTY On Friday we will be providing a night of subground (QULT), hardstyle and hardcore music with local and international heroes at the Defqon.1 pre party stage. Cold Breakfast: Price 3 tokens Selection of preserves, honey, vegemite and butter portions, fresh fruit, assorted cereal and toast. Tea and coffee will be available for both selections. A combination of hot and cold breakfast will be 6 tokens.

SHOWERS Hot Showers will be available for the camping event, however access to the shower block will be limited to the following times. Friday Night Saturday Morning Saturday Night Sunday Morning

We recommend that if you like a sleep in, you take your Pre Defqon.1 shower on the Friday night, as we expect the showers to be in high demand during the morning of Defqon.1 on Saturday.

BAR TIMES On the Friday the bar will be open from 3:30pm – 12:00am and on Saturday night between 10:30pm – 12:00am.

MERCHANDISE STORE The merchandise store at the campsite will only be open on Friday from 3.30pm till 11pm. Here you can also purchase 2 types of sleeping bags, the Defqon.1 Human Sleeping Bag (onesie) or a regular sleeping bag. There will also be hoodies available to keep you warm at night as well as a selection of Defqon.1 accessories.

SERVICES TOKEN BOOTH Defqon.1 tokens are required for all food and bar purchases. A token booth will be located within the campgrounds. Hours Of Operation Friday 3:30pm – 12:30am Saturday 7:15am – 12:30am Sunday 7:15am – 9:30am

MEALS There will be an International food market on site while you are camping on Defqon.1 Island, consisting of Hot Dogs, Pizza, Kebabs, Sandwiches, Fresh Salads, Gozlemes, Spit Roast, Grilled Sausages & Poffertjes (mini pancakes). This means that you can just relax and enjoy the views and time with your mates, as there’s no washing up to do!

On Saturday morning (between 10 and 10.30am) before doors to the main festival open, a Defqon.1 Weekend Warriors group photo will be taken. So if you're awake, make sure to get involved.

• Your Defqon.1 Camping ticket booking form (1 per 2,4 & 6 man tent/BYO).

• Food, alcohol or drugs. (There will be sniffer dogs upon arrival to the island)

• Your Defqon.1 Festival ticket.

• Liquids of any type (e.g. cologne, perfume, shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, spray or roll on deodorant (stick deodorant only!) nail polish. Some toiletries will be available for purchase at the Essential store.

• Your valid 18+ photo ID • Warm clothes - thermals, a beanie, warm tracksuit, thick warm socks etc. - as it gets very cold at night. Temperatures can drop to as low as 3 Degrees Celsius. (Area heaters are provided within the communal area)

• No Shampoo or Conditioner (Pump bottles will be supplied within shower blocks)

• Pillow

• No toothpaste (free samples available)

• Towel

• No sunscreen (available for free from the medical tent)

• Sleeping Bag (Sleeping bags will be available for purchase from the Merchandise Store)

• No perfume

• Phone Charger

• Swiss army knives, multi tools or weapons

• Thongs for easy access to toilets and showers

• Mallets (Q-dance will be providing these at the campsite)

Keep in mind, that if security do confiscate an item, that there will be plenty of generous camping buddies on the site who can probably help you out with something. • Hair gels – OK • Mascara – OK • Foundation – OK • Tinted Moisturiser – OK • Stick deodorant (No roll on or spray) • Hat and sunglasses. • Cards, Books, iPods, etc. • Medical needs if necessary e.g. asthma pump, insulin, epi pen etc. (please inform Q-dance immediately of any medicines being brought into camp site, you will need to bring a doctors referral letter. • Cigarettes. There are no cigarettes for sale on the island • Earplugs • Enough cash (EFTPOS also available at the token booths and Merchandise Store) • Positive attitude • LISTED SNACK FOODS ONLY, which include: - Chips - Crackers - Lollies - Chocolate - Fruit - Nuts Any food packaging that Q-dance management or Security believes has been tampered with will be immediately disposed of. All Food besides fresh fruit must be sealed in its original packaging.

DON’T FORGET You and your friends have to arrive and check-in at the entrance gate together.

FAQ’S Are the showers hot? Yes – And they will be available the both nights and in the morning before Defqon.1. We strongly suggest having showers on the Friday night, as Saturday morning time will be limited. Can we light a fire? No – Although there will be area heaters in the communal area to keep you warm. Will we be able to swim? No – No matter how warm it gets, swimming in the lake is not permitted at any time. Can we move our tent closer to our friends? No – Once a tent has been set up, it cannot be moved. The best bet is to arrive with your friends and find two tents together. What size is each tent area? Each tent area is approx. 3x3m so please make sure your tent can be pitched within these measurements. Will my tokens work at the campsite? The tokens you buy during the festival will be valid at the bar and food outlets on the campsite. Will there be an ATM on site? NO, but there will be eftpos machines available. Will I be able to charge my phone? Yes, there will be a phone recharging station within the communal area at the campsite. Don’t forget your phone charger. Will I be able to re-enter the campsite during the festival? Yes after 7pm on festival day. Accreditation will be checked. There is a cloakroom located within the festival grounds for any items that you might not want to carry around all day.

CAMPING SURVEY In the interest of making the Defqon.1 Camping experience the best and most deluxe of its kind in Australia, we want to get your honest feedback at the end of the event. As such, we’ll be handing out a survey on Sunday morning for you to fill in with your comments about the event. We’ll use this information to develop our camping experience for next year, so we can keep you (and the uninitiated) coming back for the annual long stay on Defqon.1 Island. It will only take 5 minutes of your time, and your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY There Are No Pass Outs from the Camping Area. Please ensure you have everything you need before boarding the shuttle bus. Patrons of the Defqon.1 Camping Event are also subject to the Conditions of Entry to the Defqon.1 Music Event. Security & Police Personnel will be in attendance on site for the duration of the event. Entrance to the Defqon.1 Camping Site • This is an over 18’s event. Entry will be refused to persons under the Age of 18. • Only holders of a valid ticket will be permitted to enter the Defqon.1 camping area. • It is a condition of entry that all patrons present a valid and acceptable form of photo identification. • Acceptable forms of Photo ID are limited to: Australian Drivers License, Passport, or Certified Over 18’s Photo ID. • It is a conditions of entry that all patrons present their ID for scanning upon entry to the Defqon.1 camping area. • The organisation (and its security provider) is entitled to search, pat down, bag check, or refer to Police any patron entering the event site or any person suspected of possessing any of the prohibited items set out in these terms and conditions. Right to Refuse Entry to the Defqon.1 Camping Site • The organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any patron. • The organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove from the premises and person who causes annoyance or inconvenience to other patrons or members of the public. • The organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove from the premises and person who is believed to be intoxicated, or under the influence of any non-prescribed drug. • No Lads, Lad Clothing or Lad behaviour is permitted at the event or anywhere on the camp grounds. The organiser reserves the right to remove from the event site, any person suspected of being a Lad or inciting Lad behaviour. Safety of Personal Belongings • The organiser or Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC) will not be held responsible for any damage, loss or theft of a persons personal property • The organiser or Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC) will not be held responsible for any damage or loss of a persons personal property that has been confiscated by security. • Patrons choosing to leave valuables on the premises unattended do so at their own risk. • Do not bring Valuables

Behaviour of Patrons • Smoking is permitted in designated smoking areas only. The organiser reserves the right to ask patrons to move to a designated smoking area. If a patron refuses to move, the organiser reserves the right to remove the patron from the camping area. • PLEASE NOTE – THERE ARE NO TOBACCO SALES ON THE EVENT SITE • There is no swimming at this event. Any patron who enters the water will be removed from the camping grounds and refused entry to the Defqon.1 Music Festival. • Wristbands will be used by the organiser to maintain the security of the camping area. Any wristband removed from the wrist or tampered with will be rendered void and invalid and will not be replaced. Service of Alcohol • The camping area is a licensed premise. As such, any person found to be intoxicated will be removed from the event site. • The consumption of alcohol is permitted in the designated areas only. The organiser reserves the right to ask patrons to move to a designated alcohol consumption area. If a patron refuses to move, the organiser reserves the right to remove the patron from the camping area. • Roving RSA Marshalls will be patroling the event site for the duration of the event. RSA Marshalls reserve the right to refuse the service of alcohol to any patron. • Bar Staff reserve the right to refuse the service of alcohol to any patron. • Any persons who are intoxicated, violent, quarrelsome or disorderly may be removed from the site in accordance with the NSW Liquor Act 2007. Boundaries of the Event & Camping Site • Any patron found attempting to exit or reenter the camping ground will be removed from the event site. • Any patron found inside or attempting to enter the bounds of the Defqon.1 Music festival site will be removed from the event site, and denied entry to the Defqon.1 Music Music Event. Curfews • To ensure the comfort of all patrons, a curfew will be imposed for the camping area. No noise is permitted in Non-Communal areas after 1am. Minimal noise will be permitted in communal areas after 3am. The organiser reserves the right to adjust and enforce these times at its own discretion. Camp Ground Allocations • Upon arrival to the camping ground, you will be allocated a tent or plot. Unless previously agreed with the Organiser, the relocation of tents, or camping equipment is not permitted. • Camping Sites will be allocated on a first served basis, if you are camping with a large group the organiser recommends that you ensure that members of your group arrive together. Power • Camping sites are not powered. There will be a phone recharging area in the communal area of the camp site. Patrons are not permitted to use event power sources or assets for their personal use. Any patron found tampering with the site infrastructure will be removed from the site.

Self Regulation • To promote a positive and safe atmosphere, we ask that all patrons accept responsibility for their own behaviour and follow the rules and regulations of the event site. Additionally, patrons are required to respect the directions of event staff and security personnel at all times in the interest of patron safety.

• Something to Keep you dry if it rains – And a spare pair of shoes

• Qualified First Aid staff will be in attendance for the duration of the event and located in the Campsite HQ. Should any patron require First Aid, Security personnel can contact the HQ directly via radio.

Fire Safety

• A good book – if you just want to relax. • Any Medication, Asthma Inhalers, that you need for the duration of your stay. (If it looks dodgy, bring your prescription)

• Fire fighting equipment will be located around the event site. Fire fighting equipment is only to be used in the event of a fire, and any patron found tampering with fire extinguishers or other fire safety equipment will be removed from the event site and refused entry to the Defqon.1 music festival.

FIRES / FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

• No sunscreen (available for free from the medical tent)

• There are several fire extinguishers on the site. They are only to be used for emergencies.

• No perfume (free samples available for male and females) • Any item/article that Q-Dance management or Security believes may be used for the purpose of storing or administering illicit drugs or pharmaceuticals not supported by a prescription.

• Anyone found using extinguishers not for their intended purpose will be removed from the festival site.

• Animals, except guide dogs or other animals trained to provide mobility assistance;

• Fight fires with the fire extinguisher ONLY if it safe to do so.

• Weapons or other dangerous implements; • Fireworks, flares or other explosive devices; • Matches, • Gas Bottles, Hexamine Stoves, Or any other device that causes a naked flame for cooking or heat;

• If you identify a fire notify others around you. • ENSURE festival personal are told. • Begin to evacuate the area. • DO NOT RE-ENTER THE AREA until it is deemed to do so. FIRST AID • There are first aid officer’s onsite.

• Any glass container;

• Please let them know if you are unwell or injured in any way.

• Large chains or spiked bracelets;

• Support your buddies if you see someone in need of assistance and notify first aid so they can assist.

• Laser pens; • Skateboards, scooters, rollerblades or bicycles; • Large Eskies; • Lad Clothing • Large Sound Systems / Furniture • Any other item deemed to be dangerous or offensive by event organisers. • FOOD OTHER THAN LISTED SNACK FOOD • NO LIQUIDS

EVACUATION • Should the need arise to evacuate the area, follow the directions of the staff. • In an evacuation, do not return to your campsite to collect belongings, as this will delay the process. • DO NOT re-enter the area until it is deemed safe. • Do NOT PANIC, and leave in an orderly manner. Ensure that you notify staff if others are left in the area when you leave.

GENERAL BEHAVIOUR • There is no swimming allowed at anytime. • Do not climb trees. • Follow directions of festival staff. • Do not light campfires. • Security staff is here to assist you. If you have any problems or safety concerns please contact them or one of the Camping staff members. • Look after your mates. If something doesn’t seem right with them, bring it to someone’s attention so it can be dealt with.
