PRESBYTERY SEEKS INTERESTED CANDIDATES FOR STATED CLERK POSITION Ruling Elder Reid A. Beveridge, who has served New Castle Presbytery with dedication as our Stated Clerk for nearly nine years, has shared with Council his decision not to seek another term. New Castle Presbytery has the opportunity to initiate the process of seeking a candidate for this position to be presented at the March 6, 2015 Presbytery meeting at the Dunes Manor Hotel in Ocean City, MD. Terms may include a one to three year covenant agreement. Teaching and Ruling Elders of the Presbytery are eligible to apply. The position is part-time, 16-20 hours per week. A strong Clerk must be an individual with deep commitment to the polity and confessional standards of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. The Clerk interacts with and provides training for Clerks of Sessions and often counsels pastors on finer points of the Book of Order. As a member of Presbytery staff, the Clerk stays in close contact with the Executive and Associate Executive Presbyters. This position will require an individual with strong computer skills and a willingness to schedule visits among our member congregations. Some additional traveling is required to attend annual training events and meetings of the General Assembly.
