On Thursday, August 3, 2017, at 9:57 p.m., a San Bruno Police Officer attempted to effect a traffic enforcement stop of a vehicle in the area of El Camino Real and Huntington Avenue in San Bruno. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield to the officer and threw a backpack from the vehicle. The driver then stopped the vehicle following a short vehicle pursuit. The driver, Franky Jay Oneto Jr., a forty-three year old San Bruno resident, was identified as the driver and taken into custody. Officers recovered suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, packaging material used to package controlled substances for sale, and a large amount of US Currency that had been in Oneto’s possession. Oneto also made threats against officers following his arrest. Oneto was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for charges related to evading a peace officer, possession of a controlled substances for sale, attempting to deter officers by threats, driving without a driver license and unrelated outstanding arrest warrants.
