On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at 6:00 p.m., the San Bruno Police Department conducted an undercover operation on the 800 block of Commodore Drive in San Bruno regarding a suspected brothel and prostitution ring. The operation was in response to citizen complaints, and independent investigations by the San Bruno Police Department regarding criminal activity at the location. During the operation, officers were led to an apartment where suspected prostitution was occurring. The San Bruno Police Investigators discovered a brothel being operated at the location and contacted two females, who were engaging in acts of prostitution. Xifeng Yu, a forty year old resident of San Gabriel, California, and Shu Bo Zhang, a forty-eight year old resident of Monterey Park, California were arrested for engaging in acts of prostitution. Both subjects were issued citations for the offense and released. The San Bruno Police Department Investigative Services Section is continuing to investigate this type of criminal activity.
