Colliers International secure Betatron as WeWork’s first Start-up Accelerator in Hong Kong Hong Kong, 7 November 2016 – Colliers International Hong Kong is delighted to have secured Betatron as a member for leading global workspace provider WeWork’s newly opened Tower 535 in Causeway Bay. Betatron is the first non-vertical accelerator programme for start-ups providing upfront seed funding in Hong Kong. It was founded by IC Studio, a start-up incubator studio and four of Hong Kong's top venture capital and investment firms including, MindWorks Ventures, Vectr Ventures, CoCoon Ignite Ventures and The Aria Group. Five early-stage start-ups will be selected at the end of November 2016, with the initial cohort beginning the programme on 2 January 2017. Betatron will provide each start-up a total of US$30,000 and provide access to a selection of experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts as mentors to help them to develop their business models by optimising their product/market fit and defining strong value propositions for identified target customers, with a viable go-to-market/customer acquisition strategy. WeWork will provide memberships and office space for each start-up during the programme. Throughout the programme, the start-ups will gain ongoing exposure and coaching from some of the Hong Kong's most prominent venture capital firms and investors. The programme will conclude with a “Pitch Day”, where start-ups will present their products to an audience of investors, potential partners and media.
