CONSTRUCTION Seating Interior Frame

Interior frame is constructed of 3/4" engineered plywood and 5/4 soft maple. Joinery is mortise and tenon puzzle frame technology, properly glued, clamped and stapled for maximum joint stability. Corners are reinforced using corner blocks and metal brackets that are securely fastened with glue and screws/staples. All interior wood components meet or exceed CARB Regulations. All engineered plywood used in the construction meets ANSI/HPVA HP‐1 standards.

Back : Seat

All Climb upholstery features a saddle stitch with tape reinforcing fabric detail that not only dramatically increases the seam strength, but enhances the seam detail for a clean crisp appearance. The seat and back are upholstered with a tight pull‐over style and padded with a 1.8/90 high density foam. The seat frame utilizes a solid seat platform which greatly increases strength and sustains a resistance to the rigors of high traffic environments. Climbs’ seating comfort is achieved by a design that allows the body to find the most comfortable posture/position and utilizes a full 1 1/2‐inch‐ thick cushion of 1.8/90 high density foam. All outside surfaces are padded with a 1” thick 1.8/90 foam. All foam meets California 117 fire code specification.

California 117 Fire Code All of Nevins upholstered seating products conform to California Technical Bulletin 117. California 133 Fire Code Nevins can enhance seating components to include a Burngard barrier cloth. When a Burngard barrier cloth is used in conjunction with a CAL 133 certified fabric, the product can meet CAL 133 testing criteria. Please contact Nevins Quotation Department.

CliMb upholstered seating products are available with the Customer's Own Material (COM) or Leather (COL).

Puddling

COM/COL Approval

All COM/COL fabrics must be tested and approved by Nevins. A completed Fabric Approval Form and (2) 4" x 4" memo samples of the fabric to be tested must be submitted to Nevins Customer Service Department. Please allow 5 business days (from sample receipt by Nevins) for testing and notification of written approval by Nevins COM/COL orders cannot be scheduled for production or acknowledged with a ship date until the COM/COL swatches are approved and the required yardage/square footage has been received, inspected and approved by Nevins. All COM/COL shipments must be shipped prepaid.

Combination Fabrics

Contrasting fabrics may be specified on the seat (a), side panels (b) or back (c). Contrasting fabric applications must be clearly indicated on the customer's order. A completed Contrasting Fabric Sketch form must be submitted along with the Fabric Approval form. An upcharge of $55 list applies; per additional fabric, per unit.

Puddling may occur as a result of certain climate conditions and/or the natural stretch inherent in fabrics and leathers. Puddling is not a flaw in the fabric, leather or manufacturing process. Nevins cannot predict or be responsible for how upholstery wears in an installation setting and does not guarantee against puddling.

Fabric Warranty

Nevins will not be held responsible for wear, fading, performance, appearance, behavior, flame retardency or durability of any fabrics or leather whether supplied by the Customer or by Nevins. Graded‐In, COM or COL fabrics are not covered under Nevins Warranty.

Multiple Quantities

When ordering multiple quantities, yardage requirements may be reduced. Please contact Nevins Customer Service Department for yardage requirements on multiple quantities.

Upholstery Application

All fabrics will be cut, seamed and applied at the discretion of the factory. railroad application is the standard application method. Any special instructions regarding the application of the fabric (pattern, direction, face side, etc.) must be indicated on your order. In the absence of instructions, Nevins will apply the fabric at our own discretion, without liability.

Fabric and Leather Imperfections

Nevins reserves the right to reject any fabric deemed unsuitable for upholstery purposes. Nevins inspects fabrics for mill imperfections, however, Nevins will not be held responsible for defects, color inaccuracies, dye lot variations or other such flaws. Leather is a natural product. Imperfections such as wrinkles and scars are considered normal and acceptable. Nevins is not responsible for the placement or appearance of these markings. Customer's leather must meet minimum standards of no more than three defects per hide. Imperfections that penetrate the hide, large marks, brands, excessively healed‐over scars or scratches, burns and excessive fat wrinkles are considered unacceptable defects.

Striped or Patterned Fabric

For striped or patterned fabrics, specify vertical or horizontal application. In the absence of instructions, Nevins will apply the fabric pattern at our own discretion without liability.

Pattern Matching

Should a COM be striped or have a pattern repeat requiring matching, a matching charge may apply. Please contact Nevins Customer Service Department. For reversible fabrics, a swatch of the COM must be provided to Nevins, clearly indicating which side should be exposed. In the absence of instructions, the factory will apply material at their own discretion without liability.

The yardage requirements listed herein are for one unit and are based on 54" wide non‐directional fabrics. Generally, additional yardage is required if fabric is striped, patterned, requires matching, or if width of material is less than 54" wide. Please use the additional yardage guideline chart below to determine COM yardage requirements. Add the percentage shown on the chart to the standard yardage requirement. The below chart must be considered as an estimate only. Nevins is not responsible for overages or if additional yardage is required. Please contact Nevins Customer Service Department for assistance in determining yardage. Note: To allow for better yield and more efficient cutting, all COM fabrics must be supplied in continuous roll/yardage lengths, rather than cut pieces.

Railroad Application (Standard)

Backing Requirements

Not all fabrics are suitable for upholstery and some may require an acrylic backing to prevent unraveling or stretching. This is determined when the fabric arrives and is inspected. When this occurs, the customer will be notified of the applicable fees.

Protective Fabric Finishes and Backings

Many textile manufacturers offer a wide array of protective finishes, custom backings and flame‐retardant treatments. Some of the available treatment options include, but are not limited to, Crypton®, Gore Seating Protection®, Nano‐Tex®, Nano‐Tex with Durablock®, Teflon® and MicroB®. Please contact your textile manufacturer for assistance on finishes to enhance the performance or application of your fabrics.


COL Square Footage Requirements COL square footage requirements are determined by the leather hide finish and size. All leather(s) must be approved by Nevins. Upon approval, Nevins will advise square footage requirements.

Excess COM/COL Nevins is not responsible for COM/COL overages. Unless specifically stated on the order, excess COM/COL will not be stored or returned.

Standard COL Square Footage

COL square footage requirements are determined by the hide type, shape and usable, clean square footage. All leather must be approved by Nevins; see "Ordering COM/COL" below. Contrasting leathers may be specified for the seat (a), side panels (b) or back (c). Contact Nevins Customer Service Department for assistance in 5 MATERIALS and FINISHES determining square footage requirements

Please allow 5 business days for testing and notification of written approval by Nevins.

d) COM/COL Shipping Instructions d.1) Upon receipt of a COM/COL order and fabric approval, Nevins will provide a COM/COL Shipping Instructions Form. This form will provide the COM/COL tagging information, yardage requirements and the manufacturing address to which the COM/COL is to be shipped. d.2) Once the required COM yardage/COL square footage has been shipped to the Nevins manufacturing facility, the customer is required to complete the Tracking Information section of the COM/COL Shipping Instruction Form and return it to Nevins COM (Order Entry) Department. d.3) Once the required COM yardage/COL square footage has been received, inspected and approved, a ship date will be assigned and an order acknowledgement will be issued.
