Engagement Specialist Sustainability Team About Prism Engineering Prism Engineering is a Metro Vancouver-based engineering firm that specializes in energy management consulting services. We are looking for a full time Engagement Specialist to join our Sustainability Team. Our Sustainability Team works with clients to:   

Design and deliver workplace sustainability programs, including waste, energy, transportation and other green initiatives. Develop and report on organizational sustainability plans. Coordinate green building certification processes, including LEED EB: O+M and BOMA BEST.

We provide over 60 BC clients with a comprehensive set of services to plan and implement sustainability programs and strategies in BC’s workplaces, including planning, communication and campaign design, project implementation support and program evaluation.

About You You are a self-motivated, creative, “people-person” who wants to have a positive impact with the work that you do. You are able to listen effectively, ask good questions and work with clients to troubleshoot issues and cocreate solutions. You are comfortable guiding and advising clients through challenging situations to designing new sustainability campaigns. You are also motivated to help market our team’s services by building strong client relationships and actively promoting Prism services. Your workday is dynamic. It consists of supporting clients through phone and in-person meetings, responding to emails, writing reports and project plans and working with other Sustainability Team members to plan for and manage projects. You thrive in a fast paced environment, love facilitating discussions with groups of people and are drawn to working collaboratively in a team. You are motivated by helping people lead change, realize small wins and achieve results.

The Engagement Specialist Role Reporting to the Sustainability Team Leader, you work closely with a number of Prism clients to design, implement and evaluate workplace sustainability programs. Your focus is on developing sustainability programs for BC organizations, including:  leading clients through the program planning process  developing strategies and communications materials  supporting the implementation of programs and campaigns  evaluating the effectiveness of programs and campaigns Your role could also include working on other projects that are aligned with your skills and experience including:  Creating sustainability plans and reports  Coordinating Green Building Certification applications  Facilitating the climate adaptation assessment process and developing action plans Prism Engineering

Qualifications and Experience We’re open to diverse backgrounds and qualifications. Tell us how your experience translates to this position.  Three to five years of experience working with organizations on sustainability initiatives, staff engagement, program development or change management initiatives.  A degree relevant to sustainability, engagement, program planning and leading change initiatives. Examples could include an undergraduate degree in environmental studies or marketing or a masters in planning or environment and business.  Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and social change.  Key skills and experience includes the ability to effectively: o Build and maintain strong relationships with clients o Lead group discussions, meetings and workshops o Think dynamically, problem solve and generate solutions o Communicate, both written and verbal o Manage multiple tasks and projects o Use PC based spreadsheet and word-processing software  The following skills and experience are considered major assets: o Experience working in a consulting environment o Experience using Adobe Creative Suite programs and graphic design o Knowledge of energy management and demand side management o Knowledge and experience in climate adaptation planning o Green Building Certifications systems including LEED V.4 and BOMA BEST This is a 40-hour per week salaried position.
