“I spend much of my working days at a computer, and so I love to get out onto the dance floor – I find the lessons provide great fun and laughter, and also some much needed exercise. They also make me realise that I should not be limited by my imagination in respect of what I can achieve.”

“I’ve been having lessons with the Academy for about four years. I started in one of the beginner Salsa classes and then went on to private dance lessons. Since then I have taken my Pre-Bronze, Bronze and Silver medals in both Ballroom and Latin.”

“I have found the teaching to be excellent. In my first few sessions alone I learnt some invaluable tips. The teacher explains things in a very clear structured way which helps to build a strong foundation. I would recommend dance to anyone. It’s a fantastic way of switching off from the stresses of life and a very healthy way to relax”

“My husband, Christopher and I have been coming to the academy classes since last year. Work commitments mean we can’t join a regular group so we have private lessons when we can fit them in. Our teacher, Christy is very patient especially as practise is hard to fit in too. ”

“I have been dancing with The London Academy of Dance (TLAD) since September 2008 when I took my first social dance class with the school. Since then I have progressed from social dancing to taking exams and have just taken my gold medal exam in ballroom and Latin American dancing. I have also had the opportunity to dance in front of an audience of family and friends at student showcase events as well as dancing in a competition at the famous Blackpool Wintergardens. This was definitely a personal highlight and something I never, ever dreamt I would have the chance to do. Last week I began lessons to train to be a student dance teacher. As you can see there is virtually no limit to the number of directions in which you can take your dancing with TLAD.

“I’ve been taking private classes with The London Academy Of Dance for the past 3 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I would highly recommend the Academy to anyone looking to take private tuition.”

Arda Eghiyan “The London Academy of Dance the best place in London for learning Ballroom and Latin American dancing. Not only is there is a warm and friendly atmosphere but the teaching is fantastic. My teacher breakdowns the steps and sequences so it’s not just your feet and body that know what they are doing, but also why they are doing it. Over the past five years, my dancing and my confidence on the dance floor has improved dramatically, I would – and do – recommend the school to anyone looking to start dancing.”

Trudy Nash “I have been having private dance lessons with Greg from TLAD for a year now. The lessons were booked for me by a friend who knew that I would never have the courage or the confidence to do it myself. My only regret now is that I didn’t do it earlier!”

Sjane Crowder “I have been taking Ballroom and Latin private tuition with TLAD for just under a year. As an adult novice, I have found the style of instruction TLAD employs instrumental in my steady progress and motivation as a dancer.”

All these options for students are made possible by the exceptional quality of the teachers at the school and their ability to tailor their teaching style to the particular goal you are working towards. I believe it is the quality of the teaching that is the key to the school’s immense popularity and success. I have found every teacher at the school to be, without exception, knowledgeable, experienced, credible, enthusiastic, and not to mention supremely patient. They always offer gentle encouragement to take your dancing to the next level if that is what you want to do. Having turned up at my first class some six years ago not being able to dance a single step in time with the music, the superb teaching at TLAD has enabled me to take my dancing further than I ever dreamt possible. Dancing has now become part of my daily life; whether it is practicing by myself in preparation for an exam or a showcase, attending my regular lesson or scouring the internet for new music to practice to. While it is a really great feeling to pass an exam or get placed in a competition it is the process of learning a new skill that I enjoy the most: the challenge of mastering new and tricky choreography; the thrill of realising you are a little bit better today than you were this time last week, last month, or last year; learning to sit with the frustration when something doesn’t come easily – you come to realise that this is just part of the process and you trust that if you just keep practising it will all eventually come together - and then of course there is the pure and simple joy of getting to jig around in time to your favourite music on a regular basis! I remember it all feeling a bit daunting before I took my very first class, but as soon as I was through the door I was hooked. The teachers immediately make you feel at ease and your hour will literally fly by and you’ll wish you had booked two! I really cannot recommend TLAD highly enough; I couldn’t imagine taking my dance lessons anywhere else.” Nina Adams, 20 January 2015
