Product Specification Aftermarket 4WD suspension is extremely complex. Determining the right solution for your vehicle and your requirements demands special attention to many factors. Unlike numerous aftermarket suspension systems, which are only available in a single configuration targeting lift height, OME offers a range of tuned and matched integrated suspension systems to ensure the right suspension is available to suit how the vehicle is outfitted and the conditions it will encounter.
Design & Development: The Fortuner has an independent front suspension system and a solid rear axle with coil springs suspension system. Throughout the development of this vehicle, OME considered three main areas; lift, load carrying and comfort. The front system damper tune and strut design was adopted from the newly released Hilux however the rear has newly been tuned and designed due to the nature of the coil springs. WWW.ARB.CO.TH

The rear has been specifically tuned to operate in balance with the current front Hilux range. The rear coils and dampers were designed and tuned to work in unison with each in order to achieve a comfortable but controlled ride. The front and rear ride heights were elevated approximately 35mm and 25mm respectively. This was done to ensure the correct amount of front to rear rake was achieved and to ensure there are no driveline vibration issues. An 8mm spacer (which is located in FK29) was also incorporated in order to re-align the driveline after the appropriate lift is applied.
Front Suspension: Springs: Four spring options were chosen to cater for the front; No Bar, Bar, Bar/Winch and Bar/Winch/Accessory vehicle setups. Trim packers have been developed to assist in fine tuning ride height that may be caused by various accessory fitments. Struts: An extensive development and tuning project was undertaken to correctly match the ride quality to the spring rate and extra time was spent to balance the level of control vs. comfort. An extra 10mm of travel and improved shock tuning has resulted in a more comfortable ride while maintaining excellent control in both on road and off road applications.
Rear Suspension: Springs: A 25mm lift was achieved after considering the front to rear rake, driveline alignment and desired lift targets. The OME engineers have developed a range of 2 springs to improve ride quality and cater for different loading options. With rates being higher than OE, these springs have a higher load carry capability while still remaining comfortable on long off road trips. Medium loads (0kg to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 0-200kgs) Constant 200kg (200kg to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 200-600kgs) Shock Absorbers: To provide comfort, control and to cater for the two spring options, two newly tuned and matched shock absorbers were developed. Primarily the medium shock absorber (60141) was designed around control but without compromising comfort. The heavier shock (60142) was designed with the same objective but with a little more control to allow for the increase in load.
