Job Title: Part-Time Math Teacher Reports to: Program Director Job Type: 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM (Planning periods from 7:00-8:00 AM and 12:00-1:00 PM) Revision Date: March 19, 2018 ___________________________________________________________________________________ POSITION SUMMARY: ($22) Join the Dream Team staff at the Camp Curtin YMCA for our Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M.) Summer Camp. Math teachers must be qualified to teach a variety of math-based programming in accordance with Pennsylvania State Standards and Common Core. This ten-week commitment requires 15-25 hours per week planning and instruction, as well as a final showcase day to exhibit projects to parents and friends on the final day of camp. The Camp Curtin YMCA is looking to fill a lasting position through both the 2018 summer camp program and the after school semester in the Fall of 2018 and beyond. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Attend all planning meetings throughout the spring (dates and times flexible) 2. Develop and implement a Math curriculum with the supervision of Camp Director 3. Proactively problem solve with students and participate in team meetings and/or weekly correspondence with group leaders 4. Implement behavior plans for each child within the math class setting 5. Publish all curriculum, lesson plans prior to the start of each week to the Google classroom or Google drive to deliver to teachers prior to groups arriving to class each week 6. Teach 3-4 sessions per day for a variety of age groups (3rd through 6th grades) in a fun camp setting that is also sophisticated and at the high level of talent and giftedness of twice exceptional children 7. Co-create a class budget of materials and resources to be used throughout the summer, prior to camp start date with the Camp Director 8. Maintain all policies and procedures set forth by The Camp Curtin YMCA 9. Develop an end-of-summer presentation for each group and lead presentations on the final day of camp for families and friends 10. Review and become extremely familiar with The Camp Curtin YMCA philosophy 11. Report all reportable incidents to the Camp Director immediately, as per policies and procedures 12. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: • • • • • • •

Proactive problem solving attitude 3 professional references Bachelor's degree or higher in the field of technology, engineering, science, and/or math Expertise or proficiency with basic math competencies, according to PA State Standards for elementary level students Materials knowledge base Flexibility in schedule Responsible and on-time work ethic
