Starling Word Counter
Literacy experts know the more parents talk to their little ones – the better they do when entering school. Most learn how to read earlier, with strong vocabularies. Research suggests that your baby should hear at least 15,000 words a day! Enter the Starling – a word counting device that your little one wears. It does not record, but counts the number of words your baby hears in a day, and an app on your phone keeps track. Daily tip notifications in the app give suggestions to parents on how to increase the amount of conversations you have together. Borrow a Starling with your Lindenhurst Library Card for a 3 week loan period. Ask for more information in the Children’s Department!
