STATE GOVERNMENT WELCOME Welcome to the Peel region for the 2017 Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest presented by LiveLighter. This popular event highlights Mandurah’s laidback coastal lifestyle and attracts more than 120,000 locals and visitors to enjoy food, entertainment and a number of fun family activities. It is pleasing to see the festival expand its program to include new events this year such as the Crab Boil, which will feature a delicious selection of seafood, and Dinner under the Stars with Fervor, a unique pop-up Australian dining experience. Both these events are expected to ignite the taste buds of festival goers. Crab Fest is proudly supported by the State Government through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program, made possible by Royalties for Regions.

MAYOR’S WELCOME

Tourism is a vital industry for regional Western Australia. In the year ending September 2016, visitors spent $9.6 billion in the State, including $4.3 billion in regional areas. Events such as Crab Fest are important because they provide significant economic, social and cultural benefits to regional communities, making them exciting places to visit as well as great places to live.

We welcome you to the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest, presented by LiveLighter. The City of Mandurah’s signature event is now in its 19th year and has become Western Australia’s largest regional, free festival, with more than 120,000 people attending across the weekend. Gwyn Dolphin Chief Executive Officer Tourism Western Australia

We encourage all visitors in the region for the event to take the time to explore Mandurah and the Peel. Located less than an hour south of Perth, the region is renowned for its stunning waterways, national parks, bushwalking trails and adventure activities. We hope everyone enjoys the festival and their time in Mandurah.

TRAVELLING TO CRAB FEST COULDN’T BE EASIER! TRAIN Under 50 minutes from Perth. Plus FREE shuttle buses will meet you in Mandurah and bring you to the heart of the festival.

ON YOUR BIKE! LiveLighter and use pedal power to get here – you can park securely in one of the FREE bike stations – check out the map for locations.

Thousands of local, national and international visitors make their way to the heart of Mandurah for this two-day festival to enjoy fabulous food, great wine, amazing entertainment for all the family and spectacular fireworks over Mandjar Bay. I’m extremely proud of the festival and its outstanding growth over the years. I hope you have a great weekend.

EMMA BLYTH Emma’s inspiration for the 2017 artwork has taken a nostalgic feel, “I have some great memories of the Old Bridge, catching herring and prawns, plus the odd blowie with my Pop. Actually, to tell the truth I think it was mainly blowies, but hey, we all know they were a lot of fun”.
