Background: Collective Impact is a process designed to bring about change to complex problems in our communities. In Vancouver, collective impact is being used to bring stakeholders, youth, and service providers together to address the unfavourable outcomes experienced by youth who have government as a parent. The participants are working collaboratively towards establishing a different vision for youth leaving care Once agreement is reached on the vision, the project participants will examine existing service provision systems and supports (both formal and informal) and assess how they would need to realign in order to meet the vision. All participants will measure outcomes in their systems against the vision. This new knowledge will create the opportunity to implement real change within the financial resources that are currently available in the system of care.
This position will be about 21 hours a week for one year. Employment structure is flexible. We are willing to negotiate a contracted arrangement or a term employee. Continuation of the position is subject to funding and will depend on our success in the Collective Impact approach.
Position Profile: As project manager, you will be responsible for engaging community partners in identifying and creating opportunities to change outcomes for youth in care. You will use your excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills to enable participants to focus their efforts in identifying strategies and key outcomes.

Aspects of the role include: • Convening the group • Facilitating the discussions regarding principles and governance • Developing the common agenda • Kickstarting the data project and the client journey map • Providing administrative support to the project What skills will you need to do this? • Work independently with direction • Superb facilitation skills • Excellent project management skills • Experience in managing projects with multi funders and different reporting structures • Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities in a fast paced and changing environment • Experience with successful implementation of community projects • Strong communication skills both oral and written including report writing • Excellent presentation skills • Basic financial management skills • Persuasive and can keep people focused. Minimum qualifications: • A university degree in Human Services or related field • 3 years experience in project management, community relations or related relevant experience • Passion for changing outcomes for youth in the care of government • Experience in participatory planning or evaluation with young people would be a strong asset.
