PROJECT MANAGER The Project Manager/Race Director position involves race directing our owned events and managing external supported events. Candidate must be a passionate, detail-oriented, computer & technology savvy person with the desire to be a part of a team of dedicated event professionals. The right person must have strong customer service skills and be a highly organized and a self-starter and must be comfortable working independently and as a member of a team. Strong communication skills are necessary, both oral and written. Applicants should be comfortable and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Familiarity with the event industry (e.g. Madison Marathon, Ironman Madison 70.3 triathlon, Taste of Madison) is a plus. The Race Director/Project Manager position will work in a team environment and report to the Director of Project Management. Responsibilities Include: Race Director for our owned events: ▪ Manage, organize and direct specific events as assigned by the Director of Project Management. ▪ Lead and Work with RDE Team to oversee event planning, budgeting, marketing and promotions, logistics, execution and post-race wrap-up. ▪ Execute race logistics from inception to completion: To include but not limited to: permitting, scheduling of Police, EMS, labor, and work with local and national vendors to secure all race collateral (awards, medals, swag, food, etc.) while adhering to the budget. ▪ Work with Director of Marketing to communicate with past and current race participants via email and email campaigns. ▪ Work with Volunteer Director to acquire the necessary volunteers required for the event. ▪ Work with Sponsorship Director to develop a comprehensive activation plan ▪ Work with Warehouse Manager to secure and load RDE owned equipment and vehicles necessary for the event Project Manager for external supported events: ▪ Take lead as project manager on client supported events to include equipment rental and some race management services as assigned by the Director of Project Management. ▪ Collaborate and communicate with event directors from initial contact to event day ensuring the event is well organized and properly prepared for a successful event. ▪ Work with RDE Staffing to adequately staff RDE labor to the event ▪ Work with Warehouse Manager to secure and load RDE owned equipment and vehicles necessary for the event

Qualifications: ▪ College degree preferred ▪ Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. ▪ Must be highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects at any given time with great attention to detail. ▪ Excellent communication skills, written and verbal ▪ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel ▪ Strong customer service skills ▪ Some weekend and holiday work is required ▪ Ability to lift 50 lbs ▪ Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record Race Day Events is a leading event production company which specializes in running and multisport events.
