COMMON CORE:
Project Look: • Enriches the classroom art curriculum and provides opportunities for cross-curricular connections and multidisciplinary education. • Appeals to a variety of learning styles by connecting the experience of seeing art in the museum galleries with making art in the Project Look studio. • Promotes active participation and fosters the 21st-century skills of critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication—the building blocks of the Common Core Standards—through inquiry and discussion.
Project Look supports the development of skills outlined in several of the Common Core State Standards. In Project Look tours, educators engage students in group discussion and guide students to analyze and “read” visual artworks, reinterpreting the Anchor Standards in Reading that emphasize understanding literature and texts. In addition, each exhibition provides unique curriculum connections to a variety of topics ranging from arts, science, history, mathematics, and English language arts.
TOUR TIMES: Tours are available Tuesday through Friday, with the exception of Monday tours which are reserved for entire grade-levels from one school to register together. Tour times and activities vary throughout the school year. Please see insert for details regarding exhibitions.
COST: Tours are offered at a nominal fee. Please refer to insert for registration and payment information. Need-based scholarships are available upon request. Please contact Project Look for more information.
