Temporary service change – Clearwater emergency department Residents are advised that due to reduced physician staffing levels, physician services at the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital Emergency Department will be limited during the overnight hours from July 4 – July 7. While the emergency department will remain open, residents should take note of the following:
From 6 p.m. to 9 a.m., only patients with critical or urgent needs will be seen by a physician Patients with less urgent needs, depending on their situation, may either be transferred to a nearby hospital for care, or offered alternate options. All patients will be assessed as usual by trained nurses.
If you are unsure what services you need, call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 for confidential health information and advice from a registered nurse. Regular emergency department operations will resume Friday, July 7 at 9 a.m. Interior Health regrets this interruption to service. -30-
