New Denver emergency department to remain open NEW DENVER – New Denver and area residents are advised that the emergency department (ED) at the Slocan Community Health Centre will remain open between Friday, Sept. 1 and Tuesday, Sept. 5. On August 23, Interior Health (IH) informed the public of a closure from Friday, Sept. 1 at 6 p.m. until Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 8 a.m. due to unfilled physician shifts. IH is pleased to report that the shifts have now been filled, which will allow the ED to remain open per regular hours of operation. IH appreciates the support of physicians in addressing this situation. We regret any inconvenience this notice may have caused. Note: Regular emergency department hours for the health centre in New Denver are 24 hours a day, seven days a week. -30-
