IH rescinds air quality advisory for Kingsvale area, south of Merritt Following an update from Ministry of Environment, Interior Health has rescinded the air quality advisory for the area in and around Kingsvale, approximately 25 kilometres south of Merritt The advisory was issued May 22 after a semi truck carrying potentially hazardous chemicals caught fire on Highway 5 near the Coldwater Road Exchange. The fire was extinguished last night and is no longer creating smoke that was a potential health hazard. Clean-up at the site is complete. Local water was not impacted by this incident. -30-
