Do Not Use order lifted for Vavenby Interior Health has removed a Do Not Use order that was issued to Vavenby residents after a diesel spill in the North Thompson River on Jan. 16. Removal of the order means that water in the community system is considered safe for drinking, cooking and bathing. Water sampling conducted since Jan. 18 has found no detectable signs of diesel in the system. Testing by a Ministry of Environment consultant and by the TNRD will continue at a reduced frequency since diesel deposited on ice and snow remains in the river. -30-
